Week 5 to 8: Life Drawing
Week 1
During week 1 we created a few pencil full body sketches, followed by a sketch from memory which was incredibly difficult.
Then moving onto using a conte crayon we were asked to create a series of head studies alongside a full body poise of the life model sitting on a bench.

Week 2
During week 2 we worked with conte crayon again, the first drawing was a group drawing where we started the drawing then walked around the room and swapped with other people to improve each others life drawings. We then moved onto full body drawings where we were asked to draw the model as a simple figure. Then finally we had a longer time to work on a more finished conte crayon drawing, this is my favourite life drawing that I created during the life drawing module, I just wish I had got myself a different board so I didn't have the strange marks on the drawing.

Week 3
During week three we were asked to work with only black and white acrylic on white paper, we did a mix of exercises from quick paintings to show weight and tension, then onto multiple studies of our life model. I found working with acrylic to be extremely difficult, but I tried my hardest and I don't think they look too bad. I actually prefer the paintings that took less time because I haven't overworked them as much unlike the upper body study which I made all too grey and the same colour.

Week 4 (Illness)
Unfortunately I couldn't go into university for the fourth week of life drawing due to illness, however I did find out that in the session that I missed we were asked to paint two drawings with acrylic on white paper and one painting on black paper. So I decided to create some independent life drawings based off pictures of life models as well as life drawing live on the BBC.

Additional Independent Life Drawings
These life drawings were based off life drawing models that I found online, it wasn't as easy to measure and figure out proportions without the person actually being in front of me.
However I made do and put my laptop a distance away from me so I could measure from that.

These life drawings were based off life drawing live a BBC show that aired last year, so I managed to watch it on the iPlayer and that meant I could measure being a good distance from the television. I like how the man with the discus turned out, but I think I was overall quite happy with these because I could just keep working on them for as long as I wanted without a time restraint.
